âHow Do I Register?â
You can fill in the online registration form on our private dentist page or call us on 020 8840 5651. Mention whether you have any pain or an urgent problem, whether youâre nervous, and whether youâd like NHS or private care.
âShould I Choose NHS or Private?â
It depends on what you want from your dentist, and you donât need to decide before you call.
NHS treatment is available to patients who qualify. It covers examinations, X-rays, fillings, extractions, crowns and dentures, with sedation for suitable patients, charged under the NHSâs standard bands. NHS fees change each April, so please check current prices with us, and ask whether NHS places are available when you call. See our NHS treatment page.
Private care is wider-ranging, including cosmetic treatments, Invisalign, implants and hygiene visits. For private treatment, you meet your dentist to discuss what you want, then have the checks needed, including X-rays and scans. You then receive a tailored treatment plan, with no obligation, to take home and think about. See our fees page for current prices.
We also offer a monthly subscription plan, starting from ÂŁ25 a month, which includes check-ups and hygiene appointments, among other benefits. Ask us for the current details.
âWhat Happens at the First Appointment?â
Weâll cover the following:
- Your history. Your medical and dental background, medication and habits such as smoking or grinding your teeth.
- Your teeth and soft tissues. Looking for decay, wear, cracks and anything else that needs attention.
- Your gums. Gum disease is a leading cause of tooth loss, and itâs much easier to treat early. See our gum disease page.
- Mouth cancer screening. A routine, painless part of the examination.
- Your bite and jaw joints. Checking how your teeth meet and whether there are signs of TMJ problems.
- X-rays, if needed. Only where clinically necessary.
- The conversation. What weâve found, what needs attention (and what doesnât), and your options.
âWhat Should I Bring?â
- Details of your medical history and any medication
- Previous dental records or X-rays, if you have them
- A list of your concerns
- Proof of NHS exemption, if youâre claiming free treatment
- A way to pay, for private treatment
âIâm Nervous. Is That a Problem?â
Not at all. Many people delay the dentist because of anxiety, and we wonât make you feel bad about it. Tell us when you book, and weâll go at your pace. We offer sedation options and relaxation techniques to help you feel comfortable.
âItâs Been Years Since I Last Went. Will I Be Told Off?â
No. A first appointment is about finding out where things stand and making a plan that works for you, in manageable steps.
âWhat if I Have a Problem Right Now?â
If you have a toothache, a broken tooth or another urgent problem, tell us when you call. We offer same-day appointments for urgent dental issues, subject to availability. If you have swelling that is spreading, difficulty swallowing or breathing, or feel very unwell, seek urgent medical help through NHS 111 or 999.
âHow Often Will I Need to Come Back?â
Check-ups are generally recommended every six months, but your dentist may suggest a different interval based on your oral health, age and risk factors. If a hygiene visit would help, weâll tell you. See our hygiene appointments page.
âCan I Talk About My Smile at the Same Visit?â
Yes. If youâd like to discuss whitening, composite bonding, veneers or Invisalign, mention it when you book, and weâll make time to go through the options.
âIs It Easy to Get To?â
Our practice is on Northfield Avenue in West Ealing. Itâs about a 10-minute walk from Northfields station on the Piccadilly line and around 15 minutes from West Ealing station on the Elizabeth Line.
